PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project is intrinsic to Taoist philosophy which the essence of the ineffable and indescribable reality is described through the dance of the four seasons of the year. Each Chinese character representing a season is a summary of the emotional feelings of the human being in its environment.

Wudao aspires to explore the field of the linguistic dimension of body expression and emotional impression then sublimated by the digital device, namely digital motion capture technology (MOCAP).

Their research leads them to highlight an invisible connection between written language and body language; The movement expressed by the dances as much as the hand which writes characters and leaves traces both aesthetic and emotional in the eyes of the audience but also through the respective personal perceptions of the dancer and the calligrapher of their bodies in space.
